Diecast Vintage Spot-On Jaguar XKSS - Very Good Repaint by Seller/No Box

Being sold from my personal model collection is this pre-owned vintage Spot-On diecast model of a mid to late 1950s Jaguar XKSS. It is a “ REPAINT ” by the seller.

** VERY GOOD REPAINT VINTAGE SPOT-ON MODEL WITHOUT ORIGINAL BOX **

* Spot-On released No107, Jaguar XKSS, in 1960. Produced, like all Spot-on models, at 1:42 scale, the XKSS was available in metallic blue, green, metallic green and pink. There may have been other colours as well.
* Spot-On were produced in Belfast, Northern Ireland by Tri-ang.
* Model Features :-
> Clear plastic windscreen
> Interior part of the body casting
> Turned aluminium wheels with raised “hub cap”, fitted with treaded rubber tyres
> Grey painted cast base with simple detailing

* The Jaguar XKSS was a road-going version of the Jaguar D-Type racing car. After Jaguar withdrew from racing the company offered the remaining unfinished chassis as the roadgoing Jaguar XKSS. Practical changes included the addition of a second seat, a second door, a full-width windshield and folding hood. However, on the evening of 12th February 1957, a fire broke out at the Browns Lane Jaguar factory destroying nine of the twenty-five cars that had already been completed or were semi-completed. Officially only 16 XKSS versions were completed for sale.
* In the very early 1960s I attended motor racing events at Kirkistown, my local circuit on the Ards peninsula, Co Down. One of the regular entrants was a Jack Slater from Scotland in a Jaguar XKSS. Hence, I repainted mine as a competition model.

* Model has been spray repainted by seller.
* After-market replacement windscreen fitted.
* Finished in competition livery with a seated racing driver figure.
