For sale is a pair of enamel badges issued by the EXCEL JUNIOR BOWLING CLUB.

The Excel Junior Bowling Club was formed in 1965 and membership is open to boys and girls aged 5 to 21 years. The club is located in Sunderland and is now called the Excel Youth Bowling Club.

The UK’s first 10-pin bowling alley was established in 1960 at Stamford Hill (North London) and which retained the American format. The new sport grew rapidly in popularity and new bowling alleys proliferated throughout the country, first in London and then to other cities. During this period, the largest 10-pin bowling chains were Top Rank, Excel and Ambassador with Excel having up to sixteen clubs across England at its peak.

CONDITION:
Excellent condition for both badges. No damage. Pins in working order.
