For sale is a finely-made enamel badge issued by the KROONSTAD COUNTRY CLUB (Kroonstad Buite Klub) to its members. This badge is well-struck with the crown being in unusually high relief with good-quality vitreous enamels.

The Kroonstad Country Club is an 18-hole golf course established in 1855 and is situated alongside the Vals River. It is reputed to be the second oldest golf club in South Africa. The club also includes green bowling facilities. Kroonstad (Crown City) is the third largest city within the Orange Free State but is now known as Maokeng.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 1" x 1 1/8" (25mm x 29mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 4 vitreous enamels.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: pin.
Imprint: PRETORIA BADGE & S.S., BOX 2151
Approximate age: 1920's to 1950's.

CONDITION:
Good condition. Some stress marking in the red enamel on right side of the crown. Pin in working order.
